Auroguard Slope Erosion Mats (Turf Reinforcement Mats / TRM) are permanent three-dimensional synthetic erosion control mats manufactured from UV-stabilised polyamide (nylon) or polypropylene filaments heat-fused into an open, resilient matrix. Installed on slopes and in high-velocity drainage channels, the TRM's 3D structure entangles soil particles and plant roots, providing erosion protection during vegetation establishment and permanent reinforcement after vegetation matures. TRMs extend the permissible flow velocity from approximately 1.5 m/s (unreinforced grass) to 6–7 m/s, making them suitable for steep embankments and large-diameter drainage channels. Applied on NHAI highway embankments, railway embankment slopes, irrigation canal side slopes, and stormwater detention basin linings. Installed with sod staples or U-pins at specified intervals.
