Auroguard Geotextile Bags (Geobags) are heavy-duty sand/soil containment units fabricated from UV-stabilised woven polypropylene fabric. When filled on-site with locally available sand, soil or gravel, geobags form flexible, gravity-based revetment structures that conform to irregular riverbed and slope profiles. Used extensively for riverbank protection, coastal erosion control, scour protection at bridge piers, embankment toe protection and temporary flood barriers. The permeable woven fabric drains freely while retaining fill, preventing hydrostatic build-up. Auroguard supplies geobags to NHAI contractors, state irrigation departments and port/coastal authorities across eastern India.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are geobags used for in river engineering?
Geobags are used for riverbank slope protection, scour protection at bridge piers, coastal erosion control and flood barrier construction. Sand or soil-filled geobags form flexible revetment structures that conform to irregular bed profiles.
What fabric is used in geobags for riverbank protection?
UV-stabilised woven polypropylene (PP) fabric with 50–100 kN/m tensile strength and high UV resistance is used. The woven structure allows water drainage while retaining fill material, preventing hydrostatic pressure build-up.
Does Auroguard supply geobags for NHAI bridge scour protection?
Yes. Auroguard supplies woven PP geobags compliant with IRC and NHAI specifications for bridge pier scour protection, embankment toe protection and riverbank stabilization across eastern India including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar.
