Geosynthetics & Civil InfrastructureBiodegradableEco-Friendly

Auroguard's Coir Erosion Control Blankets are biodegradable natural fibre mats from coconut coir for slope and riverbank erosion control during vegetation establishment. Woven coir netting degrades naturally over 2–5 years giving root systems time to develop while providing interim erosion protection. Preferred in ecologically sensitive zones along highways, riverbanks and forest corridors where non-biodegradable geosynthetics are restricted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use coir erosion control blankets instead of synthetic geotextiles?
Coir blankets are specified in ecologically sensitive areas — wildlife corridors, riverbanks and forest fringes — where non-biodegradable geosynthetics must be avoided. They biodegrade naturally as vegetation establishes.
What slope gradients can coir blankets handle?
Coir blankets with 700–900 GSM are suitable for slopes up to 1H:1V gradient with appropriate pinning. For steeper slopes, additional mechanical anchoring or higher tensile strength coir mats are required.
